One To Watch: Planet Coaster

My favourite game genre of all time has to be the theme park simulator. Planet Coaster is set to blow this genre out of the water, tear it a new one, whip it’s butt… and then go one better.

Back in the prehistoric age of MS-DOS, one game captured the imagination of an entire generation. In 1994 Bullfrog Productions released Theme Park! Man did I lose a lot of my early-teenage life to that game. That is, of course, until Roller Coaster Tycoon was released, which in 1999 renewed my enthusiasm for the genre and single-handedly ruined my chances of getting a job until I was about 20… until Roller Coaster Tycoon 2…. then 3…

Fast Forward to 2016, and the theme park simulator genre is getting a fresh coat of paint from a very loving family. Frontier Developments, the makers of Elite Dangerous and, yes, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, having cleverly sidestepped the stigma of the, frankly disappointing, Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 and Roller Coaster Tycoon World, are now developing our newest obsession… Planet Coaster!

Planet Coaster

Planet Coaster takes everything we loved about Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, adds some INCREDIBLE graphics and JAW-DROPPING design tools, and comes up with something truly magnificent.

Check it out… we love it, and I’m sure you will too!

Planet Coaster is Coming

Early builds of this game are already available for those who pre-order, and for a little extra you can even have your face or the face of your whole family added to the game as park guests or even staff members in EVERYONE’s park. Now where did I put my wallet?

Check out all the latest details and new about Planet Coaster on their website at

And don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel, cos you can guarantee we will be giving this one a chunk of air time!
