One To Watch: Tharsis

Every so often an indie game in development comes along that makes you stop, drool for a bit, then mash the follow button hoping for a speedy release. Today, I found one… Tharsis, from Choice Provisions. This Tharsis game looks like it will be awesome!

The game is set aboard a spaceship headed for the Tharsis region of Mars, that doesn’t quite go to plan. The game takes the form of a turn based strategy, but far from the likes of Civilisation and XCOM, this turn-based doesn’t see you conquering the world, instead you are simply trying to hold your ship together and keep your crew alive.

From the developers website:

Tharsis is a turn-based, perma-death, realistic space strategy game. With dice. And cannibalism. It puts you in control of the first-ever mission to Mars, just as it’s struck by a meteor storm…

…Defy the odds, make the difficult decisions, and embark on the most important rescue mission in all of mankind.

Not convinced yet? Check out the trailer, but be sure to fetch a hankerchief, or perhaps a mop, to deal with the jaw dropping droolage!

Follow The Tharsis Game

Check out the game page over at, and be sure to follow them for updates. We will certainly be following it and posting Indie Updates when we get the scoop on new details about the games release.

The Tharsis game is being developed for both Steam and PS4, and we hope to be able to get our hands on a press copy of the game so we can cover it on YouTube for you all to see… but we really believe this is going to be one to watch! If you want to see Tharsis on our YouTube channel, be sure to let us know in a Tweet or on our Facebook page.

EDIT: Choice Provisions sent us a copy of the game for a First Play video… so here it is!
